Voyager is a browser extension for people who use multiple AI chat interfaces and want more structure than the stock UI provides. It targets researchers managing dozens of threads, developers saving code snippets and prompts, and anyone who wants folders, search, and export tools around Gemini, AI Studio, Claude, ChatGPT, and DeepSeek conversations. A built-in prompt manager also works on arbitrary websites, including local apps.
Voyager fits anyone juggling long-running conversations across several AI providers and losing track of them in a flat chat history. It's a good match for researchers who need to tag and revisit specific threads, developers who reuse the same prompts across projects, and people who want their chat data exported or synced instead of locked into one vendor's UI.
It also works well if you build or test tools on localhost and want a consistent prompt manager available there too, since you can add any site through the extension popup.
It is not a fit if you need a standalone AI client or API wrapper. Voyager only enhances existing web UIs (Gemini, AI Studio, Claude, ChatGPT, DeepSeek) inside the browser; it doesn't provide its own chat backend or model access. Some features, like the Claude/ChatGPT/DeepSeek extras, depend on the plugin engine and are more limited than the core Gemini feature set. Enterprise Gemini accounts only get Prompt Manager support, not the full feature list.
Most users should install the packaged extension for their browser:
For development or manual builds, clone the repo and use Bun:
# Install dependencies (Bun recommended)
bun i
# Development mode (with auto-reload)
bun run dev:chrome # Chrome & Chromium browsers
bun run dev:firefox # Firefox
bun run dev:safari # Safari (requires macOS)
# Production builds
bun run build:chrome # Chrome
bun run build:edge # Edge package (separate)
bun run build:firefox # Firefox
bun run build:safari # Safari
bun run build:all # Chrome + Firefox + Safari
For Safari, run bun run build:safari, then open the generated Xcode project under Voyager/. Full manual installation steps are in the project's Installation Guide linked from the README.
