This repository is a collection of Agent Skills, structured Markdown-based instructions that teach AI coding agents (like Claude Code, Codex, or other agent harnesses) how to work with Google Cloud and other Google products. It's built for developers using AI agents to build, deploy, troubleshoot, or manage infrastructure on Google Cloud, and who want their agent to follow Google-specific best practices instead of guessing.

Each skill is a focused package covering one product area or workflow: authenticating to Google Cloud, configuring GKE clusters, writing BigQuery queries, managing IAM policies, setting up Cloud Monitoring alerts, and dozens more. Skills are organized by domain (cloud infrastructure, databases, security, ads, analytics) so an agent can pull in only what's relevant to a task.

• Broad Google Cloud coverage: skills span GKE, BigQuery, Bigtable, AlloyDB, Cloud SQL, Spanner, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and IAM.
• Troubleshooting-focused skills: dedicated skills for GKE node failures, TPU disruptions, storage issues, workload identity problems, and IAM access remediation.

Ideal use cases

Use this repo if you're running an AI coding agent against Google Cloud infrastructure and want it to have accurate, product-specific context instead of generic knowledge. It fits teams doing GKE cluster management, BigQuery data work, IAM policy audits, or Cloud Monitoring setup through an agent, since the skills encode Google's own recommended patterns and gotchas.

It's also useful for onboarding: the "Getting started" and "Onboarding to Google Cloud" skills give an agent a structured path for setting up a new environment, and the Well-Architected Framework skills help an agent evaluate existing infrastructure against Google's design pillars.

This is not a good fit if you're not using an agent harness that supports Agent Skills or MCP-based plugins, since the content is designed to be consumed by an agent, not read as standalone documentation. It's also not a general-purpose Google Cloud tutorial resource; skills assume an agent is executing tasks, not a human reading a guide end to end. If you need Android, Flutter, Dart, Maps, or Firestore-specific skills, those live in separate linked repositories rather than here.

Installation

Install skills into a supported agent harness using the skills.sh installer:

npx skills add google/skills

This command lets you select specific skills from the repo to install rather than installing all of them.

For agent harnesses that support plugins (Skills bundled with MCP servers):

Claude Code:

claude plugin marketplace add google/skills
claude plugin install <plugin>@google-plugins

Codex:

codex plugin marketplace add google/skills

Then install from the /plugins browser.

Antigravity CLI:

agy plugin install https://github.com/google/skills/<plugin-path>
