This repository is a curated collection of prompts, templates, and reusable structure for generating images with GPT-Image2. It's built for prompt engineers, agent builders, and teams running batch or production image-generation workflows who want repeatable results instead of one-off prose prompts. Rather than shipping code that calls an image model, it packages what the author calls Prompt as Code: prose prompts broken down into atomic, composable parts (subject, lighting, materials, layout) so they can be reused, templated, and fed into automation.

The project organizes over 500 reverse-engineered cases into categories like UI interfaces, infographics, posters, product shots, branding, architecture, photography, illustration, characters, storytelling scenes, historical/classical themes, and documents. On top of the case gallery sits a set of 20+ industrial templates meant to turn a visual direction into a structured, controllable prompt.

Key features

  • Atomic prompt schema: prompts are decomposed into subject, lighting, material, layout, and detail components instead of staying as unstructured prose, making them easier to template and modify.
  • 500+ reverse-engineered cases: a gallery of community and original examples grouped into categories (UI, infographics, posters, product, brand, architecture, photography, illustration, characters, scenes, history, documents, and more).
  • 20+ industrial templates: reusable prompt structures per category, documented alongside common pitfalls to avoid.
  • Agent skill package: a packaged skill (agents/skills/gpt-image-2-style-library) for selecting styles, templates, categories, and scene tags, meant to plug into agent tooling.
  • Workflow-oriented design: the structure is built with scripts, agents, and automation pipelines in mind, not just manual prompt writing.
  • Live gallery site: a companion website lets you browse cases visually, copy full prompts, filter by style or scenario, and test generation after sign-in.
  • Multilingual docs: README and gallery content are available in English, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese.

Ideal use cases

This fits teams or individuals doing repeated, structured image generation with GPT-Image2, for example building a poster generator, an infographic pipeline, a product-shot batch job, or an agent that needs to pick styles and templates programmatically. It's also useful for prompt engineers studying how detailed, working prompts for a specific model are structured, since the gallery doubles as a reference set of what worked.

It is not a good fit if you're looking for an image-generation API, SDK, or hosted service; the repo does not call or wrap GPT-Image2 itself, it only supplies prompt text and structure. It's also not the right tool if you want fully automatic image generation without any prompt engineering involvement, or if your use case has nothing to do with GPT-Image2-style prompting (the templates are tuned to that model's behavior, not a general-purpose prompt format).

Installation

There's no package to install and no server to run. The repository is a documentation and prompt-template library, so setup is just cloning it and browsing the docs:

git clone https://github.com/freestylefly/awesome-gpt-image-2.git
cd awesome-gpt-image-2

From there:

  • Open docs/gallery.md (or the split docs/gallery-part-1.md / docs/gallery-part-2.md) to browse the case album by category.
  • Open docs/templates.md for the industrial prompt templates and known pitfalls per category.
  • If you want to use the packaged agent skill in an agent or coding tool, point it at agents/skills/gpt-image-2-style-library/SKILL.md.
  • Optionally use the hosted gallery at gpt-image2.canghe.ai to browse and copy prompts without cloning anything, and to test generation after signing in.

Because the content is plain Markdown and static assets, there are no dependencies, build steps, or environment variables to configure.
